Ouch

This brooch features a copper plate decorated with cloisonné enamel, set within a sterling silver setting secured by claw prongs. Inspired by my personal experience with knee pain caused by patellar tracking disorder, the piece uses color as a visual language. The enamel palette is based on a thermal pain map, with each color representing different levels of pain I experience, translating sensation and intensity into colorways. Through the contrast of colors and the precision of traditional enameling techniques, the brooch becomes both a physical record of the body and an intimate, wearable narrative.
